Around Farrer Hall:

Inside stuff:

Common room(no bulky telly, notice the projector facing the preferred huge screen)

kitchen equipped with stove, oven, etc but without
anything to put on or into them.... (no bowls and the like)

Laundry (the iron leaks...)

now imagine dim, flickering lights

room's a mess already, this is not under represented in size though.

15 minute walk to Monash main campus from hostel area:

15 minutes doesn't feel like 15 minutes.
Contents are ridiculously larger(or prettier if that suits you) than what is depicted from the pictures below

random ones ya

Just a little off where the main buildings are:

ridiculously wide field

(Monash Sports) just the entrance, it stretches on like, for a lot.

On campus:

Religious Center( for Catholic masses and like, weddings)

blackwood hall or something...

as mentioned, ridiculously larger. just one of the
open air car parks. There's still a multi-storied covered car park.
for that, again, Monash shells out to impress

Science faculty library, so you can make out there are others around

that's still about hardly 5% of the institute, but like, I'll bore myself
if its all buildings, so yeah....

so yeah.... left

men...

...women

and arrived...

3 hours difference and already experiencing jet lag...

1st day = maxis died on me, and I'm as computer savvy as a luddite so I had no hope of accessing the internet with my relative common sense. The nearest pay phone was a 20 minute walk from my hostel to campus (no pay phones around the Hall of residence), so to and fro for a 30 second call took 40.30 minutes.

was about 32 degrees when I arrived, and the hostel room doesn't have a fan or anything logical for cooling purposes but a built in heater for all students.

went to the city to get a sim card, and the somewhat blatantly insulting weather started pouring down buckets.

got onto the train during rush hour. Aussies have lovely armpits by the way.

went to my aunt's, there was a pot roast...

looks like one...

some other stuff didn't happen, some did... so yeah, awesome 1st day

p.s. if you're reading this and you haven't arrived yet, pack that over sized luggage into at least 2 bags... no offense, but the girls, nor guys coming (you know who you are) can't carry 35 kilos or more up a ridiculous amount of steps without getting a stroke.

cheers...
